Canada
New Brunswick: Fredericton, Christ Church (Fredericton) -- http://www.angelfire.com/mt/ParishofFredericton

Book, Journals, etc.
Technologies for Worship Magazine: Perhaps more appealing to churches other than Anglican, the online magzine is still worth a browse. In the December issue, you can read the article 'Special Effects: Angels' and learn about 'a miraculous-seeming material made by the 3M Corporation ... the substance reflects almost 100% of any light that strikes it; much more than almost anything found in nature. Dressing angels in this fabric will indeed cause them to appear "like lightning."' Useful for those of you directing Christmas pageants. -- http://www.tfwm.com/twm/

Christian Education
Mustard Seed Series Online:' Offers Christian Educators and parents resources that inform, guide, and inspire on how best to pass on the Christian faith in the classroom, at home, and in the wider world'. -- http://www.mustardseedseries.com/

News Centre
An interview with a professor of the sociology of religion. A new parish church in a very unlikely place. An English bishop writes about water, and he makes it fascinating. Ruth Gledhill and Victoria Combs do the town together, but don't give us any pictures. News about trials and prosecutions and other things we'd sometimes rather not report. We have refused to carry any news about sex this week, for no particular reason. A report of a spellbinding sermon by Desmond Tutu. A virtual cemetery in the UK. A survey showing that Canadians are becoming more religious even as the English are becoming less so. Several reports on the Millennium Service at St Paul's in London. Only one Y2K failure reported in the Anglican world. All this, and more, in the News Centre.

The world is still here, and computers still work. Imagine that. Despite earlier threats to boycott, the AB of C led the crowd at the Millennium dome in the Lord's Prayer, which many of them knew. The Telegraph and the BBC both report, separately, on the state of Christianity in Britain. No second coming at Rosslyn chapel. Much fuss in Australia over giving government money to church groups to help the unemployed. England didn't burn down because the candles wouldn't fit through the mail slots. The Most Revd Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye retires. Silent church bells. St Swithun's cathedral gets some new-found respect. Archbishop tells Kenyans that they face extinction from AIDS unless they mend their ways. The Prince of Wales confesses his faith on BBC Radio, and Ruth Gledhill listened. This just a day or two after the Archbishop of York took a public stand that a person in the Prince's position ought to be able to be king even if he marries a Roman Catholic, which we hear he, a widower, is considering. A Yorkshire parish finds a Y2K moneymaker. Email from a priest in Australia to a priest in England triggers a chain of events that finds long-lost treasure for a parish.
