Prayer
for Primates Meeting in March (Prayer begins Monday, 28 February)
Beginning Monday, 28 February, a prayer vigil begins. From the organizers:
'Our hope and prayer is that there will be prayer coverage every hour
between tomorrow (28 February) and the ending of the Primates meeting--about
400 hours of prayer if people pray in one-hour increments. The prayers
... will contribute to lessening the tension in our beloved church and
will empower the Primates in Portugal to "be still" and listen with their
hearts to one another, listen to the Spirit within, and listen to the
Voice beneath the voices.
'The
email address to let us know when you would be willing to pray is prayer@anglicanvigils.org.
When
people email their names, the date(s) and time(s) they will pray (and
if they wish, their location), we will add their names to a prayer vigil
calendar. The calendar can be accessed through the Anglican Vigils web
site (http://www.anglicanvigils.org),
the Lundi-Lambeth web site (http://maffin.net/june/lundi1.htm),
or directly: http://www.calendars.net/cals/angvigil.
'Lundi-Lambeth'
and 'Anglican Vigils' have no agenda, no desire to sway theological perspectives,
no inclination to do anything except bring before God, these men of God
who, in response to God's call, now serve the Anglican Communion as Primates'.

The
Ecclesiological Society: We're quite chagrined that this splendid web
site has been on the Net, it appears, since 1998 and we didn't know of
it. If you don't know the society, here's a capsule history: 'The original
Cambridge Camden Society was founded in 1839 at Cambridge. In 1845 it
moved to London, and changed its name to the Ecclesiological Society.
The Society had a major influence on the development of church architecture
during the mid-nineteenth century, under the influence of its founders
Benjamin Webb, John Mason Neale, and Alexander Beresford-Hope. Its famous
journal, The Ecclesiologist, was published between 1841 and 1868,
and combined scholarly articles with trenchant criticism'. The site has
super links and resources. -- http://www.eccl-soc.demon.co.uk/
