News
Centre
The Vatican raises some eyebrows. Most people believe their prayers are
answered. One less religious columnist in the Anglican world, and one
less editor. Anglican Mission in America publishes a list of supporters.
Canadian churches apologize to natives. Diocese of Cariboo prepares to
self-destruct. Africans dubious of politicians who go to church. Neil
Follett, whose social standing did not stand up, has resigned. Britain
plans to let churches also be post offices and pharmacies. Australian
newspaper laments the Americanisation of the church. All this, and more,
in the News Centre.
Newspapers
Online
The Post and Courier (Charleston, South Carolina) has become
one of the leading sources of religion reporting in the US. Their staff
religion writer, Dave Munday, has done a wonderful job of covering the
Episcopal church in recent times. It's long past time for us to add this
newspaper to our list of recommended Newspapers
Online. -- http://www.charleston.net/pub/index/news1.shtml
The British
dead-tree publication Anglican World now has an Anglican World
Online web site, which says 'Special features, late breaking news, extended
photographic coverage and other items will be included in this Online
supplement to Anglican World.' We suppose that the phrase 'late
breaking' is relative, as the newest item on the site is five weeks in
the past. -- http://www.anglicancommunion.org/aw/online/
