The Diocese of Atlanta announced candidate information for its ninth bishop a few weeks ago. Election: 31 March -- http://atlanta.anglican.org (The Atlanta webmaster notes: 'Over the past several weeks the diocese has gotten acquainted with these 5 through the internet. Each week, members of the diocese could submit questions to candidates around five topics: experience in ministry, community building / leadership, spiritual practice, social justice/community ministry, and liturgy. Members of the nominating committee then distilled these questions into three "coffee hour questions" to be answered in 300 words or less each. In addition, emails were sent regularly to members of the diocese, informing them of the nominating committee's progress. Each of these avenues of communication got much good feedback, many web hits, and helped the diocese get better acquainted with its candidates prior to the "live" presentation events'.)

Bishop Coadjutor Mark Sisk of New York will be the featured speaker at an open program to be presented by the Anglican Society on Friday April 20 at 9:30 a.m., concluding the Alumni/ae Week at General Seminary, 175 Ninth Avenue in New York City. 'Theological reflection has left an indelible mark upon the Western imagination and its art. Creeds and confessions have "taken flesh" as they have been explored by writers, artists, poets, and musicians. Theology however, has often been a reluctant partner in this dialogue. One of the core convictions of the Institute is that despite this reluctance, genuine conversation between Theology, Imagination, and the Arts is possible--indeed, essential. Just as the arts and the imagination have been animated and enriched by theological reflection, so may the theological enterprise be advanced through careful and scholarly engagement with the arts and the imagination'.
