Australia: Diocese of North Queensland
Diocese of North Queensland elected John Noble as their next diocesan. He was Northern Regional Bishop in the Diocese of Brisbane for six years and then was appointed Director of Ministries Development and Theological Education in 1999. More information here.

150 years on: memories of slavery re-echoed in Breadfruit: The Nigerian newspaper 'This Day' has published the story of the contribution of St Paul's Church, Breadfruit, in ending slavery in that country. This is one of the oldest Anglican churches in Nigeria.

Anglican Communion
The Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission has invited the perspectives of Anglicans worldwide on four key questions that are critical to the communion.  

• When we speak of the Anglican Communion, what do we mean by the word “communion”?
• What is it that makes some disputes so crucial that failure to resolve them threatens a break in communion?
• In what ways are Christian teachings about moral behaviour integral to the maintenance of communion?
• In answering these questions we shall be asking: how far does the Virginia Report meet the relevant situations that have arisen in the Anglican Communion since its publication?

The commission are soliciting opinions until 31 May 2002. Alas, it appears that your contribution must be by paper mail to London. You can find more information here.
