University of Exeter has developed an online Certificate in
Theology in partnership with the Anglican and Methodist churches
in the South West of England. The two-year Certificate is open
to anybody, and is equivalent to the first year of a three-year

Anglican Church of Uganda
On Friday, 4 July, the province elected
a 54-year-old bishop, the Right Reverend Henry Orombi,
bishop of northwest Ugandan diocese of Nebbi, as its new primate.
He will take office on 25 January, 2004. Orombi, who was born
in 1949
at Goli
in
Nebbi district, worked as a school teacher in his home district
before joining the evangelisation ministry in the mid-1980s. He later
qualified with a diploma from a theological college in Uganda, before
studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology at
University of Nottingham.
Church of England
The Queen has approved the nomination of
the Right Reverend John Warren Gladwin MA, DipTh, for election
as Bishop
of Chelmsford
in succession to the Right Reverend John Freeman Perry ALCD,
LTh, MPhil on his resignation. Bishop Gladwin is presently
Bishop of Guildford. Details here.
