Libya: Tripoli, Christ
the King [Note from the submitter: 'After the 1969 revolution
that brought Qadhafi to power, this Anglican church was confiscated.
It had originally been an Italian military chapel, outside a barracks,
which the British army converted to a garrison church when they defeated
the Italians during the war. After that it was a downward slide,
especially after the London killing of PC Fletcher and then Lockerbie.
Now there is resurrection. The congregation is growing so much that
there are now three: the Nigerian ('on fire', says the Bishop), the
Arabic-speaking, and the English-speaking. A lay minister has just
been ordained deacon for the Arabic-speaking congregation.]
