Noted This Week

WHENEVER WE LEARN about a web site that we haven't previously listed, we'll note it here. Sometimes such sites are brand new and sometimes they have been around for a while without our having noticed. We list two weeks’ worth, cycling the old ones off each week. As they disappear from this page, you'll find the links moved to their natural home categories in our resource pages. We do not mention on this page remakes of sites that are already in our listings.

If you can't find something that was once here, you can look in our archives or try the AO search engine. It searches our entire site. If you still can't find it, please let us know.

If you would like your website listed at Anglicans Online, please use this form to tell us about it.

Lambeth Reports. Terry Brown, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Malaita in the Church of the Province of Melanesia, wrote daily email reports on the Lambeth Conference 2008. 'I thought I might write a short daily report from Lambeth' he begins; the rest is a fine, personal commentary on two weeks of ecclesiastical meetings. Worth Noting
The Economist Watches Church: This serious magazine, founded 'to take part in a severe contest between intelligence, which presses forward, and an unworthy, timid ignorance obstructing our progress', has covered matters Anglican with some interest of late: see The high price of togetherness, Anyone for Schadenfreude? and United we fall. Pithy headlines, these.

Finances and the Lambeth Conference 2008: The Director of 'The Lambeth Company'—who is also the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion—has issued a new release on budget shortfall. 'With a budget of £5.6 million, and in common with previous Conferences, the projection of a deficit in the immediate period following the Conference was always recognised. For an international conference on this scale and taking into account the places from which the participants travelled, England continues to be the most economical place to hold such a gathering and a university campus the most financially viable.'

We Support Dave Walker: You may have seen Dave Walker's church cartoons on his website and also linked from Anglicans Online. His friends have created a Facebook social networking group to express their support for his fine work.
