Noting A Beacon in the Darkest Hour: In Nevada (US), the Revd Mary Bredlau found her calling in reaching out to people in the greatest of pain - she has officiated at 350 to 500 funerals a year for 15 years. That's 4,500 to 7,500 souls. The Las Vegas Sun (Nevada) has an inspiring story about this Episcopal priest and former RC nun. Peter Walker, RIP: 'Walker was a model Church of England bishop – devout, scholarly and pastoral – and had a multitude of friends and admirers. Among these was WH Auden, who once observed: "Friendship with Peter Walker was one of the best things about coming to England."' From the Telegraph. |
