Noting Lost Anglican Churches. 'Fifty Anglican churches in the city of Toronto have disappeared, either torn down for development or used for different purposes. The incumbent of St Mary Magdalene in that city, the Revd David Harrison, is trying to bring them back to life in his blog. To date he has traced half of them. An article in the Anglican Journal notes that in one case even the land has disappeared. In 1911 St Nicholas was built on Fisherman's Island, a sandbar that disappeared when the harbour area was filled in 1915.' |

Noting The Scholar-Priest Initiative. 'holds two things dear. First, every parish deserves good leadership. Second, theology done for the parish can once again be done in the parish. Our churches often divorce theology and the parish and both suffer as a result. In response, SPI supports, mentors, and helps fund centered, open, and effective scholar-priests and works with bishops and other leaders to connect scholar-priests with parishes that need stable and effective leadership.' |
