Letters from the week of 31 August to 6 September 2015
Like
all letters to the editor everywhere, these letters express
the opinions of the writers and not Anglicans Online.
We publish letters that we think will be of interest
to our readers, whether we agree with them or not. If

There
are often comments about our front-page letters on the Anglicans

Kicking a robot
I don't really think the problem is: SHOULD YOU KICK A ROBOT. Rather, should you kick a robot belonging to someone else without their permission? A wise man once said, "Love people - use things". There is such a lack of love in the world, in certain societies any way, that I think if we want to help we should try to spend more time loving people and let things take care of themselves (as it were). Feel distressed for the robots' owners, or creators, for all their input, in time and money etc., but not for it. It is not made in the image of God

Public events passing our church
(In reference to the AO front page of 23 August 2015)
Marathon passing by and a torch.
I worship at a busy downtown parish. When the local Marathon happens on a Sunday morning close to us it is difficult to find a parking space and to get around. This year there was an enthusiastic group on the front steps cheering on the runners. Our priest said – ring the church bell – and someone did just that. Many runners waved back. Some years before this event we were having a fairly quiet evening meeting. Some loud cheers were heard outside the door. It did not take long to figure out – the Olympic torch was being carried up the street.
