Hallo again to all.
There are some intriguing news stories from the UK, everything from a leaked memo about the Church of England needing 'spin doctors' to the first rumblings of what some
bishops plan at the Lambeth conference. (Editor's
note: Alas, these links as of late Friday 3 April are no longer good, as the
Church Times does not archive its issues.) Many of us will be sad that to read of
a serious squabble between Westminster Abbey and its organist, Dr Martin Neary.
The public domain portions of the Lutheran Hymnal (American, 1941) are online. And another
fine lectionary site, updated each
week, is certainly worth a bookmark. Leader Resources, an Episcopal
education group, is online, and they're known for their 'Journey to Adulthood'
materials. The Order of St
John of Jerusalem, with which many
of you will be familiar through their ambulance brigades, is also online.
The Society
of Archbishop Justus, which host this
site and hold in trust
the Internet domain anglican.org for
the Anglican Communion, received some strong support in the Church Times
(London) this week.
We welcome our first South American parish, Paróquia de Todos os Santos in Brazil
and greet a host of parishes, dioceses, and
cathedrals from the UK, Canada, and the USA as well.
Timothy Morgan, who managed the well-known Anglican Kids Association site (aka.ca,
now closed) says this about its demise: '...it shut down from lack of time on my
part, and also on the part of other members. None of us could keep up with the amount
of time needed to keep the AKA website updated and to keep it in the excellent condition
that our readers were accustomed to. If anyone else has any questions they can email
me at tim@axe.net'. We at Anglicans Online hope Tim will be back on the Net
in some form in the future.
Do remember to have a look at our Lenten
resources page and check the New This Week for a quick overview of all the new sites.
See you next week.
