Hallo again to all. We were idly musing tonight about what diocese might win our award for the Most Wired, and it's our guess that the Diocese of Massachusetts (ECUSA) might well come close, based on raw numbers of parishes with web sites. But the Diocese of Virginia (ECUSA) might give them a run for their URLs. Both dioceses weigh in this week with a host of new-to-Anglicans-Online parish sites. We enjoyed visiting all of them, and the mosaic gives one an interesting picture of life in each diocese. You'll find all our new parishes on our New This Week page. A good friend of Anglicans Online has passed on to us several new sites for research and study in French, which we list under Biblical Study and Criticism. (Thanks, Michel!) We're glad to have these, and look forward to being able to add Web resources at AO in languages other than English. Do let us know if you are aware of any that should be in our collection. We see that the Church of England has put up its new publication on marriage, which attracted a bit of press a few weeks ago. Now you can read the complete text yourself. We note several UK-specific resources this week, which you'll find in New This Week under the 'UK, Ireland and Europe' subhead. If you're physically in London on 3 November and have nothing booked for the evening, you might like to stop in at University College and listen to what will certainly be a provocative debate, titled: '2,000 Years since Jesus Wasn't Born'. Quick details are in New This Week (see 'Events') as is a link to the web site about the book causing all the kerfuffle. Speaking of events, if your parish, diocese, or other organisation is hosting one that could potentially interest Anglicans round the world, let us know. We'll be happy to publicise it. (You might give us at least a month's lead time.) At Ship of Fools, our friends are noting the 20th anniversary of the release of the Monty Python movie 'Life of Brian'. Whether you saw it or avoided it, you might be intrigued by this 'second look at the movie's controversial humour'. Speaking of Brian, have a look at the News Centre, where we don't usually speak Latin. But if you've ever actually SEEN the Life of Brian, you know that when a Centurion has a spear at your side, you can learn to write perfect Latin. For some odd reason, 'Life of Brian' is one of your News Centre editor's favourite movies; he can recite most of its dialog from memory, though not with the proper pronunciation, of course. See you next week.
