The American Convocation of Churches in Europe has announced the three nominees for its first elected bishop. The web
site is not yet updated, but the nominees are the Reverend Dr Mark Harris, Diocese of Delaware, the Reverend Gray Temple Jr, Diocese
of Atlanta, and the Reverend Pierre W. Whalon, Diocese of Central Florida.
The Diocese of Sydney: The Sydney Morning Herald has a large
feature on the candidates for the election of the next Archbishop. The Election Synod will meet from June 4 to 8 to elect the new
Archbishop of Sydney.

its tenth bishop, on the seventh ballot.

Trinity Episcopal Church in Dallas is holding a two-day conference: New Tool
for Evangelism and Church Growth: Morning Prayer for the 21st Century.' For generations, Morning Prayer was the distinctive Episcopal
service. Today it's increasingly hard to find. And that's too bad. Because the service of Morning Prayer is not only one of the loveliest
liturgies anywhere, it's also one of the most evangelistically useful. In fact, Morning Prayer has rightly been called "the
Episcopal version of a seeker service." When presented with freshness and Biblical clarity, it may be the ideal liturgical vehicle
for presenting the Gospel message'.

In September 2000 a conference was held at the University of Exeter to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of Richard Hooker.
Some of the papers delivered at the conference are now available and they include Paul
Avis on 'Exploring Issues of Authority in the Spirit of Richard Hooker' and Geoffrey
Rowell on 'Interpreting Authority: Tradition'.
