What's New This Week

ALL THE NEW URLS we receive each week are here. We list two (sometimes three) weeks’ worth, cycling the old ones off each week. As they disappear from this page, you'll find the links moved to their natural home categories in our resource pages.

If you can't find something that was once here, you can look in our archives or try the AO search engine. It searches our entire site and also many important official Anglican sites worldwide.

Worth Noting

The Archbishop makes a mess: Mark Harris on the new Convocation of Anglican Nigerian Churches in America.

Emerging Evangelism, by John Finney; Mission Impossible: Restoring Credibility to the Church, by Duncan MacLaren; Ambiguous Evangelism, by Bob Mayo with Sarah Savage and Sylvie Collins; and Sharing Faith: Biblical Reflections for Today, by Gavin Wakefield, are all reviewed in the Church Times by Nicholas Holtam. 'Whatever it is, evangelism is the concern of the whole Church. The trouble is that this potentially interesting observation has become vacuous, because “'evangelism' is now a fashionable catch-all word, lacking definition.'

The Spanish Inquisition, by Joseph Pérez, translated by Janet Lloyd, is reviewed in the Church Times by Alec Ryrie. 'This is a sober but extremely readable account of a grim story. Rather than providing a voyeuristic chamber of horrors, Pérez shows how Spain's pathology arose from everyday ingredients: from fear, from hunger for power, and from doctrines that many of us still believe.'
