General Synod, 4–11 July, 2001, Waterloo
We're happy to note this news from the Anglican Church of Canada: 'Web surfers anywhere in the world will be able to see on their computer monitors exactly what synod delegates are seeing on the screen of the large plenary hall, the site for most of the business of synod. The website feed will be live, for the duration of the week-long synod, from July 4-11, and will consist of raw footage, without editing. St John in the Wilderness (Minnesota, USA) Adult Education and Formation: Among other useful offerings, this site 'features a download of the ECUSA 1979 Book of Common Prayer as a Microsoft Reader .lit e-book. The text has been extensively cross-referenced with hyperlinks, and colour fonts used in the various headings and comment passages to increase readability'. There are also a number of good PDF files for download.

Canada
Diocese of Brandon: Vacancy in See as of 31 July 2001
Bishop Malcolm Harding plans to retire effective 31 July. An episcopal election is set for 19 October 2001. Dean James Njegovan will administer the diocese until a new bishop is elected.

Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island: Vacancy in See as of 28 February 2002
Archbishop Arthur Peters has announced he intends to retire as bishop of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and as metropolitan of the ecclesiastical province of Canada, effective February 28, 2002. The diocesan synod has scheduled an episcopal election for the fall of 2002.

The Convocation of American Churches in Europe announced that the Reverend Pierre Whalon was elected Bishop Suffragan and Bishop in Charge on 23 June. We send our prayers and good wishes to our friend and AO colleague!

The Diocese of San Joaquin will host Bishop David Pytches, Mary Pytches, and their team to St James Cathedral in Fresno for a two-day conference. David Pytches was a missionary to Peru and subsequently Bishop of Peru, Chile, and Bolivia and has been involved in renewal ministry for some time. Episcopal Elections
We received word that the Episcopal Church of Cuba failed to elect a Bishop Coadjutor. Pablo-Oden Marichal and Ulises Agueros were the candidates. At the meeting of a Special Synod held at St Paul's Church, Camaguey, on Friday and Saturday, none received the required votes among the clergy.

The American Convocation of Churches in Europe elects their new bishop this Saturday, 23 June.

Although only the Book of Acts is currently complete, the webmaster notes that they are 'currently achieving at a rate of three chapters per day'.
